ATV Tire Chains

ATV Tire ChainsWhile ATV’s can be quite useful when driving on rough terrain, even these machines need a little bit of help in some situations. Snow driving is one of the areas where ATV tire chains might make the difference and in rough situations can get you to safety instead of leaving you stranded in the middle of nowhere. The ATV tire chains surround the tire and help the machine get better traction in places where there is a lot of ice or snow. These tire chains can be rough on the roads, so not all states allow their use. Whether or not you are allowed to use them in your state should be a question you should answer before you decide to buy a pair. If you are allowed, then they are recommended for areas where the winters are rough.

If you want to buy tire chains for your ATV, you should pick either four link or two link spacing. The tire chains which have spacing of two links come with the cross chain placed at every two links, while the ones with spacing of four links have it every four links.

The design of the tire chains is the next thing you should decide on. You will find them in designs which include D-shapes, Super Stud and V-Bar. The easiest to install on ATV tires are the ones shaped like D’s and their traction is just as good as those of the Super Stud type. The Super Stud chains are just as good, but harder to install and they come with a pattern shaped like a diamond. As for the V-Bar tire chains, these are very good in conditions with a lot of ice or on hills.

ATV tire chains are available both online and in local tire stores, if they are legal in your area.
